Special Correspondent:Â Today (Monday), 254 Deputy Assistant Engineers (E/M) of eight divisions of the country were transferred and posted at the conference room of the Works Building in Segunbagicha in the capital.
Based on the results of the lottery, 119 Deputy Assistant Engineers have been posted in various offices of Dhaka Division, 27 in Rajshahi Division, 27 in Chittagong Division, 27 in Khulna Division, 13 in Barisal Division, 8 in Sylhet Division, 11 in Mymensingh Division and 22 in Rangpur Division.
This lottery activity was coordinated by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Md. Sarwar Alam. Additional Chief Engineer (E/M) of the Public Works Department, Kazi Md. Firoz Hasan, was present at the time.
‘This lottery-based transfer process will establish transparency, impartiality and discipline in transfers and postings,’ said Additional Chief Engineer (E/M) of the Public Works Department, Ashraful Haque.
Diploma Engineers Association (Member Secretary of the Public Works Department) Md. Sakhawat Hossain said, ‘The Diploma Engineers Association, Public Works Department branch welcomes the lottery-based transfer process. As a result, discipline will return to the transfers and postings of the department.’
At that time, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Md. Khalequzzaman Chowdhury, Joint Secretary Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Joint Secretary Fouzia Khan, Deputy Secretary Khan Md. Nazmus Shoaib and Deputy Secretary Md. Abu Naser and other engineers were present.
It is worth noting that 767 Deputy Assistant Engineers (Civil) of the Public Works Department were transferred through a lottery on July 30.
