Dinajpur Correspondent : Police have arrested a landlord in Sheikhpura area of ​​Dinajpur city on charges of having physical relations with a female tenant multiple times under the pretext of marriage. A case was filed based on the written complaint of the victim in this incident and the accused was sent to jail through the court.

According to the police and the case report, the arrested Md. Zahid Hossain (49) is the son of the deceased Abdul Halim of Sheikhpura area of ​​Ward No. 9 of Dinajpur Municipality.

The report alleges that the victim Md. Jonna (43) and her husband Md. Zamir Uddin had been living as tenants in the accused’s house for about a year. At that time, the accused, taking advantage of the absence of other members of the house, had physical relations with her multiple times over the past three to four months, promising marriage and tempting her.

The statement further states that on August 1, at around 2 am, the accused Zahid Hossain entered the victim’s room again and had physical relations with the promise of marriage. Later, when the victim talked about marriage, the accused refused to marry her. At that time, people around the scene rushed to the scene after the victim screamed and arrested the accused. Upon receiving the information, the Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station reached the scene and took her into custody.

Later, the victim filed a written statement at the Kotwali Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case (Case No. 06) under Section 9(b) of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, 2000. The next day, when the accused was produced in court, he was sent to jail on the orders of the court.

In this regard, a source in charge of the Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station said that a case was registered after receiving a written complaint. An investigation is underway to uncover the true truth of the incident and necessary legal action will be taken based on the results of the investigation.

However, regarding this complaint, the accused Md. No comment was immediately available from Zahid Hossain or his family.
