Police have arrested Abdul Baten Pramanik (55), son of Zulmat Pramanik, who was the accused in a case under the Speedy Trial Act, in Harirampur, Manikganj.
Police said that he was the accused in a case under Section 4(1) of the Law and Order Prejudice (Speedy Trial) (Amendment) Act, 2024, FIR No. 3, dated April 10, 2026, of Harirampur Police Station.
He was arrested from his house in Kalai village of the upazila on Saturday (June 27) evening.
He was sent to the learned court on Sunday (June 28). SI Emdadul Haque of Harirampur Police Station said that Abdul Baten Pramanik has multiple drug and extortion cases against him.
