The 83rd Annual Sports Competition-2024 was held at Kartia Abeda Khanam Girls High School and College, commercial area of ​​Tangail Sadar Upazila. The program started on Saturday (February 17) at 10 am with the recitation of the Holy Quran and hoisting of the flag.
Tangail Sadar Constituency MP Alhaj Chanwar Hossain was present as the chief guest in the event. Tangail Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Hasan-Bin-Muhammad Ali was the initiator.
President of Abeda Khanom Girls School and College and chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Shahjahan Anshari was present as a special guest, former member of parliament Maulvi Morshed Ali Khan Panni, distinguished scientist and founder of Bandhu Foundation. Engineer Md. Khalekuzzaman, District Education Officer Rebecca Sultana, Chairman of Kortia Union Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Khalekuzzaman Chowdhury Majnu and others. Also, member of the governing body of the school, Ashish Kumar Roy, member of the governing body and president of Kartia Union Awami Jubo League Emdadul Haque Enamul were present.
The chief guest inaugurated the annual sports competition by lighting the torch along with flying balloons, festoons and pigeons. After the ceremony, acting principal of the college Mohammad Khalilur Rahman highlighted the various achievements of the students of the institution. After that, the main attraction of the program starts with the sports competition and musical display.
Students are divided into different teams and participate in sports competitions. In addition to the sports competition, the students showcased the country’s history and culture through a wonderful musical performance. Then dress up as you like, members of the governing body, parent-teacher sports events and other student sports events create excitement among all present. Lecturers Md. Rezaul Karim and Manas Chakrabati were in charge of managing the display. Nazmun Nahar Khanam was in charge of sports management.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of various events and delivered educational speeches. In his speech he expressed his feelings by appreciating the students for their outstanding performance.
