Election Commissioner (EC) Rasheda Sultana called for fair and impartial elections in the upazila elections. He said the election of the country is an important issue. Because the basic foundation of democracy is election. Therefore, he called on the candidates to ensure the presence of voters in the election. On Monday, April 29, an exchange meeting was held on the occasion of the upazila election at Thakurgaon District Commissioner’s conference room. He also said in the meeting that the competition of the candidates in the election is just as important as the presence of the voters to create an environment to exercise their right to vote. Moreover, immediate action will be taken if there is specific information showing the influence of votes in the election. Law and order forces will treat all member candidates equally. He also called on the media to provide objective news. He said that immediate action would be taken if a journalist was attacked at the polling station. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Uttam Prasad Pathak, candidates for upazila elections and other public representatives and media workers were present.
