Allegations of attack and vandalism on home in Moulvibazar, demands for looting of cash and goods

There have been allegations of attack, vandalism, looting and beating of family members on a home in Hasanpur area of ​​Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila due to a previous dispute. The victim in this incident, Rafiq Mia, has filed a written complaint with Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station. The complaint states that on June 25, 2026, at around 3 pm, due to a previous enmity, a group of people entered Rafiq Mia’s house with country-made weapons and vandalized various furniture in the house. At that time, a Walton refrigerator, wooden showcase, rack, meat safe and various goods were damaged. The complaint also states that the attackers took away 48 thousand taka in cash, about 1 lakh 30 thousand taka worth of gold ornaments and other valuables from the house. When they tried to stop the attack, Rafiq Mia (80), his daughter Shafina Begum (25) and Raina Begum (18) and other family members were beaten up. They were injured. Later, with the help of locals, the injured were admitted to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital and treated. The victim, Rafiq Mia, has filed a written complaint with Moulvibazar Model Police Station, naming Rahman Mia (50), Mujib Mia (40), Rajib Mia (26), Russell Mia (20), Sahel Mia (30), Imran Mia (30), Shakil Mia (25) and 2/3 unidentified people from Dhanashree village involved in the incident. When asked about this, SI Shahin of Moulvibazar Model Police Station said – I visited the scene after receiving the news. Initially, it is believed that this incident was centered around an incident of extramarital affairs. The officer-in-charge has been informed about the matter. Necessary legal action will be taken after verifying and investigating the truth of the incident.
