A group spreading confusion in name of politics, be careful: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, urging the people, said, ‘A group in the country is spreading confusion in the name of politics, be careful.’

The Prime Minister made this call after the inauguration ceremony of the family card distribution program at the Chandpur Government College ground on Saturday afternoon.

Mentioning that BNP’s politics is changing the fate of the people of the country, the Prime Minister said, ‘BNP’s politics means digging canals, increasing agricultural production, building new mills, providing employment to people, providing health care, ensuring people’s safety.’

Aiming at the general public present, the Prime Minister said, ‘If someone wants to create confusion in the name of politics, if someone wants to create anarchy in the name of politics, will you sit? None of us will sit. We will resist with strong hands.’

This family card distribution program is being organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Apart from Chandpur, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated this family card distribution program through video conference in 20 more districts.

At the beginning of the program, the Quran recitation, the national anthem and later the party anthem were played.

The Prime Minister handed over family cards to 10 women – Hasina Khatun, Sohagi Akhtar, Fatema Khatun, Amena Khatun, Moseda Begum, Monowara Begum, Mahmuda Khatun, Ruma Akhtar, Nazma Begum and Taslima at the ceremony.

Then, with the bottom tip of the laptop, cash (2,500 taka) was given to each of the beneficiaries (15,000 women) from Chandpur and 20 other districts.

The Prime Minister said, “Every program that BNP has taken is in the interest of improving the fate of the hardworking people of this country. And for this purpose, we have removed tyranny from this country through the movement. The people of the country have now handed over power to the elected government. Now it is the turn of our people to change the fate of their people.”

The Prime Minister called on everyone and said, “Now is the time to work, now is the time to build the country. So let’s get down to the work of building the country. In this public meeting, we commit ourselves so that no one can obstruct the path of building our country.” For this, everyone must be vigilant.

He said, let us pledge on this condition, ‘We will do the work, we will build the country, Bangladesh first.’

At that time, the Prime Minister expressed positive support for various demands including the establishment of EPZ in Chandpur, a Science and Technology University.

Stating that the people of the country want peace and stability, the Prime Minister said, some people, a group, are creating various controversies. Today, I want to clearly state before you, ‘The people of the country have voted in favor of the promises we made to the people of the country in the February 12 elections. Therefore, we have started the work of implementing all those promises along with the people of the country. If we can implement all these promises in stages, then the fate of the people of the country will change.

The Family Card event turned into an ocean of people in the presence of thousands of leaders, workers and supporters.

The event was chaired by Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Professor AZM Zahid Hossain. Education Minister Anam Ehsanul Haque Milan, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin, Advisor to the Prime Minister Mahdi Amin, MP from Chandpur-1 constituency District President Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, MP from Chandpur-2 constituency Jalal Ahmed, MP from reserved seat Rashed Begum Hira, Chandpur Zilla Parishad Administrator Salim Ullah Selim, and Social Welfare Secretary Mohammad Abu Yusuf spoke at the event.

Ruma Akhtar and Monowara Begum, who received family cards, spoke praising the Prime Minister’s initiative.

Agriculture Minister Amin Ur Rashid Yasin, Disaster Management Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, Executive Chairman of the Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun (Ashiq Chowdhury) and district leaders were present at the event.
