Public representatives and general public must work together to build clean city: Ishraque

State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Engineer Ishraque Hossain has called on public representatives and the general public to work together to build a clean city.

Ishraque Hossain has also called on all the workers of BNP and its affiliated organizations to come forward to implement Clean Dhaka.

He made this call while participating in the clean campaign announced by the Prime Minister at the National Stadium area in Gulistan in the capital on Thursday (May 14) morning under the initiative of the Nationalist Liberation War Generation.

Ishraque Hossain said that every citizen of the country must take the responsibility of cleaning the areas around their homes to build a modern and clean city.

He said, we are organizing a program here today to increase public awareness. No matter how many programs we organize, if we the people are not aware, if we are not aware of keeping our city clean, then we will never be able to build a livable and healthy environment for this city.

The State Minister said, it has become our habit to throw garbage anywhere. We have to change this habit, garbage cannot be thrown anywhere. It has to be thrown in a specific place. We also have to build sufficient public toilets. We have to create sufficient waste management.

He said, the pressure that has increased in Dhaka city has exceeded its carrying capacity. Therefore, we have to think about how to reduce the pressure from Dhaka and move various institutions to the surrounding areas so that employment increases and the pressure on people in Dhaka city also decreases.

At the same time, he also called on all the workers of BNP and its affiliated organizations to come forward to implement Clean Dhaka.

Also present at the time were the president of Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters’ Party, veteran freedom fighter Ishraque Aziz Ulfat, and leaders and activists of various levels of the Freedom Fighters’ Party and the Generation of Freedom Fighters’ Party.
