Madrasa student rape-pregnancy in Netrokona: accused teacher in hiding to avoid arrest, caught in RAB operation

The incident of a child student getting pregnant after raping her in Madan upazila of Netrokona has created a stir across the country. As a result, the accused madrasa teacher Amanullah Mahmudi alias Sagar (30) went into hiding to avoid arrest. However, the rapist was finally caught in the shadow investigation of RAB. This has brought relief to the victim’s family.

On Wednesday (May 6), Additional DIG Naymul Haque confirmed this information at a press conference at the headquarters of Bypass RAB-14 in Mymensingh city at around 12:15 pm.

Earlier, he said that the accused teacher was arrested from Sonampur area of ​​Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district in the early hours of the day.

The RAB captain also said that the accused teacher went into hiding to avoid arrest after the incident. However, he was finally caught in the RAB net under RAB’s intelligence surveillance. He has already been questioned about his involvement in the incident. However, no sensational information is available from him.

RAB officers Ishtiaq, Nazmul, and journalists from print, electronics and online media in Mymensingh were present at the press conference.

Sources said that the accused madrasa teacher Amanullah Mahmudi alias Sagar is the founder and teacher of Hazrat Fatema Tujhura Mahila Qaumi Madrasa in Madan Upazila. Besides, the victim child is a student of that madrasa. At the time of the incident, the child was sweeping the balcony of the mosque adjacent to the madrasa. At that time, the accused teacher called the child to his room and forcibly raped him.

However, the accused teacher claims that he is not involved in this incident. DNA test will provide evidence of this.
