Dr. Sansila Zebrin Priyanka has been nominated by BNP for the reserved women’s seat of the 13th National Parliament. The nomination of this new face known as a doctor has created interest and discussion in the political arena.
On Monday (April 20), the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the names of female candidates at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital. Dr. Sansila Zebrin Priyanka was included in the announced list.
Dr. Priyanka is currently teaching at a private medical college in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. She is better known to the locals as ‘Dr. Priyanka’. Although she is new to politics, she has a positive image as a doctor.
Earlier, she contested as a BNP candidate from Sherpur-1 (Sadar) constituency in the national election. In that election, she was defeated by Hafez Rashedul Islam, a Jamaat-backed candidate and former central president of Chhatra Shibir, by a margin of more than 50,000 votes. However, she became known in the political arena through participating in the elections.
According to the information submitted to the Election Commission, Dr. Sansila Zebrin Priyanka was born on June 22, 1993. She passed her SSC in 2008 and HSC in 2010. Later, she completed her MBBS in 2016 and joined the medical profession.
Those concerned believe that BNP nominated her with the aim of increasing the participation of the new generation in politics.
