Barura police arrested 3 accused in gang rape case in Comilla’s Barura.
According to the sources of Barura police station, Sumaiya Akhtar Sadia (victim) was married to defendant Abul Khair approximately 6 years ago. Defendant Abul Khair, son-in-law of plaintiff’s daughter, does not often work. Today he behaved badly and hung out with bad people and he was addicted to drugs. He often made various bad offers to the plaintiff’s daughter for drug money. The plaintiff’s daughter did not agree with him and informed the plaintiff. Plaintiff warned her daughter’s son-in-law not to make such proposals in future. Last 15/04/2024 day night i.e. last 16/04/2024 night approximately 1 o’clock Defendant No. 1 Md. Nurul Islam Prakash Nura went to the plaintiff’s daughter’s house. Then defendant No. 4 discussed the matter with Abul Khair. At approximately 1.30 minutes, defendant No. 4 Abul Khair asked victim Sumaiya Akhtar Sadia, daughter of plaintiff, to associate with defendant Nurul Islam Noora. When the plaintiff’s daughter refused to do so, the defendant Nurul Islam Nura with the help of the defendant Abul Khair forcibly raped the plaintiff’s daughter Sumaiya Akhter Sadia against her will. The plaintiff’s daughter was taken to the residence of the defendant Nurul Islam Prakash Nura of Shakpur Uttarpara of Shakpur Union No. 08 of Barura Upazila at approximately 5 o’clock in the morning of the same date. After being taken there, the plaintiff’s daughter was bathed. While taking a bath, the plaintiff’s daughter washed the clothes she was wearing. Then on the night of 16/04/2024 i.e. last night of 17/04/2024 approximately 02.00 hours, the defendant Nurul Islam Nura again forcibly raped the daughter of the plaintiff against the will of the victim in her living room. In the morning, the plaintiff’s daughter took a bath again and washed her clothes. Then on last 17/04/2024 at approximately 9 o’clock in the night, defendant No. 4 Abul Khai spoke with defendant No. 1 Nurul Islam Noora, defendant No. 2 Monir Hossain and defendant No. 3 Mohin Uddin together with defendant No. 3 Mohin Uddin’s CNG to plaintiff’s daughter of No. 13 Adra Union of Barura Upazila. At village Narindrapur, the crop irrigation machine was taken to the house (CNG driver Wahab’s machine house) and at about 10 o’clock in the night, accused Nos. 1, 2 and 3 raped the victim Sumaiya Akhter Sadia, daughter of the plaintiff against her will. After the rape, the defendants dropped the plaintiff’s daughter in the CNG of defendant No. 3 Mohin Uddin on the same date night at approximately 11.35 minutes on Kalbhat near Shakpur New Bazaar and the defendants left in the CNG from that place. Regarding the said incident, the plaintiff came to the police station and lodged a complaint, Barura police station case No-12, Tang-19/04/2024 AD, Section-9(3)/30 of the Women and Children Suppression Act of 2000 (Amendment/03) was filed.
Immediately after the filing of the case, under the overall direction of the Superintendent of Police, under the leadership of the officer-in-charge, the Barura police station’s smart team on 20/04/2024 confirmed through various information technology and trusted spies, conducted raids in Shakpur and Narindrapur areas of Barura upazila, and identified 03 accused Ejahar involved in the incident. . Md. Nurul Islam Prakash Noora (30), Father-Abdul Barek, Mother-Rafia Begum, Sang-Shakpur (Uttarpara Batgach Bari), No. 08 Shakpur Union 2. Monir Hossain (22), Father-Deceased Abul Bashar, Mother-Firoza Begum, Sang-Shakpur (West Para Haider Bari), Post Shakpur, Ward No. 09, Union No. 08 Shakpur, 3. Mohin Uddin (38), father-Md Nurul Alam, mother-Jasmin Alam, Sang-Narindrapur (Molla Bari), No. 13 Adra Union, Sarb Thana-Barura, District-Comilla were arrested. After the arrest of the accused, in extensive interrogation, the accused confessed to the gang-rape. Barura police station officer in charge Md Riaz Uddin Chowdhury said that the accused are being handed over to the learned court and the investigation process of the case is continuing.
