The District Detective Branch (DB) police in Joypurhat conducted a special operation and arrested 3 active members of an inter-district motorcycle theft gang. During this, 2 stolen motorcycles and several items including a master key to break the lock were recovered from them.
​On June 29, the DB police conducted a raid on the south side of Latir Hat Bazar under Panchbibi police station in Joypurhat after receiving a secret tip-off about the sale and purchase of stolen motorcycles. When they fled after sensing the presence of the police, two people named Rabiul Islam (24) and Md. Nadim (25) were arrested with a black Discover 110 cc motorcycle.
​Later, based on the information given by them, another accused named Sohel was arrested from his own house in Nakurgachi village of Panchbibi. At that time, a red TVS Apache 150cc motorcycle, 3 mobile phones and 4 iron T-shaped master keys used to break the motorcycle lock were recovered from his house.
A Penal Code case (Case No. 44) has been registered at Panchbibi Police Station in this incident and the arrested accused have been sent to court. The DB Police’s operation to arrest other accused involved in the theft gang is continuing.
