3 domestically made single-barreled guns and 3 sharp weapons have been recovered in a special operation by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-15 in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar. According to RAB-15 sources, based on secret information, the force came to know that an organized gang of robbers had hidden a large amount of illegal weapons and sharp weapons in Thoayingakata village of Khuniapalong union of Ramu upazila in a special way for the purpose of robbery. Based on this information, a smart expeditionary team of CPSC, RAB-15 conducted a special search operation in the area at around 6:30 am on Wednesday (July 29). At one stage of the operation, Md. Three locally made single-barrel guns and three locally made sharp weapons (DA) with wooden handles were recovered from an abandoned and specially hidden empty space near a pond on the northern side of Shahjahan’s (36) home. RAB said that the process of handing over the recovered illegal firearms and sharp weapons to Ramu Police Station for further legal action is under process. RAB-15 also said that their operations against armed terrorists, robbers and illegal arms dealers will be conducted more vigorously and continuously in the future.
