18th April, 23rd RAB arrested two people with fake notes of Tk 446,000 in Joypurhat. They were arrested from Tetultali area of Sadar Upazila after 1 pm on Tuesday (April 18). The arrested two fraudsters are- son of Nur Mohammad of Nakuria village of Sadar Upazila of the district. Rimon (27) and Roni Mondal (30), son of deceased Nuruzzaman of the same village. It is known that the owner involved in this business for a long time. Rimon and his associate Roni Mondal. They are working as active members of syndicates that supply and market fake money. They openly admitted that they used to buy fake money at the price of 12 thousand rupees this Eid and put it in bank money bundles. They also admitted that they were using these notes in various trading schemes. Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam, squad commander of RAB-5 Joypurhat camp, said that they were arrested and handed over to the police station after raiding Tetultali area of Sadar Upazila based on secret information. Later, a case is pending against them in the concerned police station. He also said that RAB-5 Jaipurhat camp’s intelligence operations are continuing to catch other members of the syndicate that manufactures and supplies these fake currency.
