Laksam police arrested a young man on charges of attempted rape in Laksam, Comilla.
The incident took place (May 2) on Thursday morning in Mudafarganj South Union of Upazila No. 1 Ward Phulhara village.
During the funeral, Al Amin (30), son of Saleh Ahmed of Shashurkata village of Lakshipur Union No. 14 of neighboring Barura Upazila, was cutting paddy next to Fulhara Bij, while the girl’s father and others were cutting paddy a little away. At 7 am, the girl went to the paddy field to take breakfast for her father and others, and on her way home, Al Amin found the girl alone and touched her sensitive parts and forcibly took her inside the paddy field. Hearing her screams, the girl’s father and others came forward and grabbed Al Amin by the hand. Later, when he was taken to No. 3 Mudafarganj South Union Parishad, Al Amin was arrested by the police of Laksam Police Station with the help of the local chairman.
Officer-in-charge of Laksam police station OC Sahab Uddin Khan said that a case has been registered against the accused.
