‘Let’s implement the hopes and aspirations of the youth, build a beautiful future with today’s conviction’— World Population Day was celebrated in Bijoynagar, Brahmanbaria with this theme in mind.
A discussion meeting was held at the auditorium of Bijoynagar Upazila Health Complex at 3 pm on Monday (July 13).
Bijoynagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mahmudur Rahman spoke as the chief guest at the event, presided over by Upazila Assistant Family Planning Officer Monoranjan Das
Upazila Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Md. Sumon Bhuiyan was present as the special guest. In addition, officials from various government departments, journalists and union-level female and male health assistants participated in the event.
In the welcome speech of the president, Manoranjan Das gave details of the day and contraceptive shortage and gave details about the field work of the workers. The field workers gave overall information about their respective activities and outreach to clients. He said that the role of youth in family planning and population control is very important. In this era of information technology, every family should be developed in a planned manner by increasing awareness.
At the end of the program, Md. Farid Uddin Bhuiyan, Chandura Union, Best Family Welfare Assistant Ruparani Das Chandura, Best Union Chandura Union Parishad, Best Family Welfare Inspector Shirin Chowdhury, Best Assistant Medical Officer Ajit Kumar Das were awarded the best workers’ crest and certificate for their commendable contribution to family planning, maternal and child health care activities.
In addition, Chandura Union has also achieved recognition as the best union in the district and received the crest and certificate.
