A court has sentenced a wife and her lover to life imprisonment for killing her husband Ketab Uddin over extramarital affair in Gorak Mandal village of Fulbari upazila of Kurigram.
Additional Judge Joynal Abedin of the Additional District Sessions Court of Kurigram gave this verdict today (July 14) at noon.
The accused who were sentenced to life imprisonment are wife Nur Nahar of Gorak Mandal area of ​​Fulbari, mother-in-law Chhakina Begum, father-in-law Nur Mohammad and wife’s extramarital affair lover Gafur.
According to the case, on April 18, 2006, wife Nur Nahar took her husband to her extramarital affair lover’s house in Gorak Mandal village of Fulbari upazila of Kurigram on the pretext of inviting him to dinner. There, his wife Nur Nahar, her parents and her extramarital lover killed Ketab Uddin and dumped his body on the land next to the house.
The day after the murder, on April 19, Ketab Uddin’s father Ali Muddin filed a murder case against 9 people. After a long hearing, the learned court sentenced 4 accused to life imprisonment.
The accused’s lawyer in the case was Advocate Monowar Hossain Alo and the government’s lawyer was Advocate Tariqul Islam.
