The tree planting campaign and tree fair 2025 organized by the Noakhali District Administration and Coastal Forest Department was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Imtiaq Ahmed on Monday, September 1. Assistant Conservator of Forests AKM Anisuzzaman delivered the welcome speech at the discussion meeting organized in the meeting room of the Deputy Commissioner under the chairmanship of Abu Yusuf, District Forest Officer of Coastal Forest Department, Noakhali.

Among others, the central secretary general of Bangladesh Journalists Association Moniruzzaman Chowdhury, social forestry beneficiary Ala Uddin, and Baishakhi TV district representative Liaqat Ali Khan spoke. The chief guest of the program, Deputy Commissioner (Joint Secretary) Khandaker Imtiaq Ahmed said – trees are a special blessing of the Creator. The benefits of trees cannot be exhausted by talking about them. Trees keep us alive by providing us with oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide. They maintain the balance of nature. He urged everyone to plant trees in their yards and maintain them. He distributed cheques worth Tk 18.72 lakh to 74 beneficiaries of social forestry for the sale of trees. At the beginning of the program, a colorful rally was held in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the tree fair organized at the Eidgah Maidan.
