The Intelligence Branch (RSB) of Railway Mymensingh has arrested a ticket black marketer who was using someone else’s National Identity Card (NID) from Gafargaon Railway Station in Mymensingh along with a three-page ticket with 12 seats of the Dhaka-bound Jamuna Express train and Tk 5,505 in cash.
He was arrested in a raid based on a secret information at around 11:30 am today, Wednesday (July 1). The arrested black marketer has been identified as Atahar Ali Ata (55). He is said to be a resident of Raghaichuti village in Gafargaon upazila. After the arrest, the accused was brought to Mymensingh Railway Police Station (GRP) by Mahua commuter train from Gafargaon.
Meanwhile, locals have alleged that Abul Bashar, the in-charge of Gafargaon Railway Police Outpost, regularly takes bribes from the ticket black market syndicate, due to which the ticket black market syndicate has been carrying out their nefarious activities at the station for a long time. However, the relevant responsible source has confirmed that the matter of taking bribes is being fully investigated and further legal action is being taken. Preparations are underway to file a case with the Mymensingh Railway Police Station in this regard.
