On Tuesday 30 September 2025 Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information.
He said that based on a secret tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf in the Keruntali area under Teknaf police station in Cox’s Bazar at 9 pm on Monday, September 29, 2025. During the operation, a search was conducted in a suspicious CNG in the area and a drug smuggler was arrested with 24,000 pieces of yaba pills worth about 1.2 crore taka hidden inside the CNG in a unique way.
The process of taking further legal action against the seized yaba, CNG and the arrested smuggler is under process.
He also said that the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent drug smuggling.
