Students must work sincerely to build the Bangladesh of future – Education Minister

Rajiv Dey : He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the “Dean’s Award 2026” ceremony at the central auditorium of Jagannath University today.

He said that today’s students will lead the society and the country in the future. Therefore, students must work sincerely to build the Bangladesh of the future. Students must dedicate themselves to social service and nation building.

He also said that the ‘Dean’s Award’ is a very significant award. Because through it, talented students are recognized. Therefore, it is the responsibility of universities to recognize good students. Because this recognition will inspire the awardees. Besides, it will develop leadership and a sense of responsibility in students. It will be useful not only for themselves but also for the society.

At this time, he also said that this year, two percent of the GDP has been allocated to the education sector. This budget allocation must be used in the best possible way.

The minister also said, ‘The government is working with utmost importance in the education sector. The biggest asset of the country is the human resources that are developed by teachers. Developing skilled human resources is essential for the socio-economic development of the country. That is why the government is giving special importance to the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rais Uddin presided over the program, with Dhaka 7 constituency MP Hamidur Rahman Hamid and Education Ministry Secretary Abdul Khalek present as special guests.

Dean’s Award was presented for the first time at Jagannath University. Today, awards were given to students of a total of 4 academic years. In this, 104 students from 38 departments and 2 institutes under 7 faculties of the university received Dean’s Award.
