Special Correspondent: Former chief advisor to the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, said that the July Memorial Museum is not just an establishment, but the beginning of a new chapter in Bangladesh’s history.
At the inauguration ceremony of the July Memorial Museum in the capital this morning, he said, “The journey of a new Bangladesh will start from here. If we ever lose our way, we will start a new journey from here.”
Professor Yunus said that the July Memorial Museum will become the center of our history.
He said, “If we ever lose our way in the future, the journey of a new Bangladesh will start from here.”
He told the youth of the country that they should play a leading role in writing the history of this memory and come forward to form a new Bangladesh.
At the end of the ceremony, Professor Yunus urged everyone present to visit the July Memorial Museum every year.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and Prime Minister’s Information and Cultural Affairs Advisor Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman were present at the event.
Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the museum established at Ganabhaban. The museum has been established with the aim of preserving the documentary history of the July Uprising, highlighting the nation’s resistance against tyranny, passing on that tradition to future generations and paying tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and July fighters.
