The humanitarian organization Pathashishu Ashray Kendra stands by the life of a helpless pregnant woman named Najma (35) living at Rajbari Railway Station at a critical moment. Najma’s husband is mentally unstable. Even though she is seven months pregnant, the baby in her womb has stopped moving for a few days.
When she fell ill in the railway station area, members of the organization quickly took her to the hospital. On Tuesday morning, after an ultrasound at an outside diagnostic center from the emergency department, it was revealed that the fetus was no longer alive. On the advice of doctors, she needed an emergency D&C (DNC) operation.
Currently, Najma is admitted to the gynecology ward of Rajbari Sadar Hospital. Since her husband was not by her side, she became even more helpless with her two young children. At this time, the Street Child Shelter took full responsibility for everything from treatment to food and essential supplies.
Convener Qayyum Khan Tushar, joint convener Nahida Binte Newaz, member secretary Habib Hossain and organizing secretary journalist Kabir Hossain have played a special role in this humanitarian initiative of the organization.
