A target of 6 lakh 98 thousand 715 children has been set in Barisal district and city. This information was given at an orientation workshop for media personnel at the District Civil Surgeon’s Office Hall Room on Tuesday (September 30).
The typhoid vaccination program for children and adolescents will start across the country from October 12 to October 30. Children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years will be vaccinated during this period.
Civil Surgeon Dr. SM Manzoor-e-Elahi was present as the chief guest at the workshop organized by the Barisal District Information Office and in collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh. The event was presided over by District Information Office Director Mohammad Omar Faruk Dewan, and was attended by Mass Communication Department Director Syed A Momen, Barisal Press Club President Professor Aminul Islam Khasru, District Journalists Union President Azad Alauddin, and Assistant Director of District Information Office Md. Shakiluzzaman. Journalists working in various media outlets were present at the orientation workshop.
It was informed in the workshop that about 4 lakh 61 thousand 917 vaccines will be given in primary and secondary schools and 2 lakh 36 thousand 798 vaccines will be given at the community level in Barisal district and city areas.
To receive the typhoid vaccine, registration must be done through the vaccination app. In this case, registration must be done with the 17-digit birth registration number to receive the vaccine.
