Recognition for Two Decades of Acting: Ershad Hasan Receives TRAB Award

Entertainment Desk: Renowned stage and television actor Md. Ershad Hasan has been honoured as the Best Stage and Television Actor at the “TRAB Star Award 2025,” organized by the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB).
The award was presented during a discussion, cultural program, and award ceremony held on Monday (July 28) at the Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Auditorium of the National Press Club.
Md. Ershad Hasan began his acting journey through a one-year course at the Theatre School directed by National Professor Kabir Chowdhury. Since then, he has established himself as a versatile artist through performances in stage plays, street theatre, mime, recitation, television dramas, and international productions. He is also well-known as a trainer, organizer, and artistic manager of theatre groups.
For over two decades, he has performed in numerous significant roles with the renowned theatre troupe “Theatre,” under the direction of globally acclaimed theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar. His notable stage plays include:
• Shesh Khela (Directed by Dr. Farhad Zaman Palash)
• Madhabi (Written by Girish Karnad, Directed by Ramendu Majumdar)
• Khetmojur Khaimuddin, Meraj Fakirer Ma, Rudra Robi o Jallianwala Bagh, Baramkhana, Muktodhara, and Eksho Basta Chal.
As a listed artist of both radio and television, Md. Ershad Hasan has acted in various popular TV series, including:
• Lalita (Ekushey TV)
• Rong Tamasha (BTV)
• Babar Bari (Boishakhi TV; Directed by Bulbul Ahmed)
• Tattu Ghora (Ekushey TV)
• The role of “Pachak” in a drama series on Maasranga TV
He is also actively performing in several upcoming productions.
When asked about receiving the award, Md. Ershad Hasan shared:
“For an actor, an award is a recognition of their work. This honor will make me more responsible and dedicated. My journey continues with love for theatre.”

The welcome speech was delivered by TRAB General Secretary Suhrid Jahangir, and the event was presided over by TRAB President Kader Monsur.
