RAB-15 operation in Teknaf: 2 drug dealers arrested with 20,000 pieces of Yaba, motorcycle and mobile seized

In a separate operation in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-15 arrested two drug dealers with 20,000 pieces of Yaba. During this, a motorcycle and two mobile phones used for transporting Yaba were seized. RAB-15 said that RAB is conducting regular operations under the ‘zero tolerance’ policy to maintain the law and order situation in the country and prevent the terrible spread of drugs. In continuation of this, a large consignment of Yaba was seized in a special operation in Dargarchhara area of ​​Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday (July 14) morning with the help of information technology. The press release said that on Tuesday morning, at approximately 8:30 am, an operational team of RAB-15’s CPC-1, Teknaf camp, while stationed at Shapla Chattar in Teknaf, learned based on secret information that some drug dealers were preparing to take a large quantity of Yaba through the road in front of Siratul Mustakim Jame Mosque in Dargarchhara, Teknaf Sadar Union. Upon receiving the news, the matter was immediately informed to the higher authorities. Later, on their instructions, RAB members set up a special check post in the area at 9:15 am. When two people on a motorcycle reached the spot from Mitha Panirchhara area at around 9:30 am, RAB members signaled them to stop. At that time, when the motorcycle riders tried to escape, RAB members chased them and arrested them.
Later, a legal search was conducted in front of the witnesses present and 20,000 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from a yellow shopping bag held by Nurul Amin, who was sitting on the back of the motorcycle. The arrested persons are – Md. Aziz Khan (23), father Shamsu Mia, a resident of Lengur Bil (Jahalia Para) area of ​​​​Sadhar Union of Teknaf, and Nurul Amin (34), father late Hossain Ahmed, a resident of Leda Rohingya Camp-26, Block-H/3 area.
RAB said that a motorcycle and mobile phone used for transporting Yaba have been seized. After filing a case against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act, the process of handing over the recovered evidence along with the evidence to Teknaf Model Police Station is underway.
RAB-15 Assistant Director (Media) and Assistant Superintendent of Police A. M. The press release signed by Faruk said that RAB’s strict stance on drug eradication will continue in the future. Intelligence surveillance and special operations will be further strengthened against those involved in all types of drug trafficking and dealing, including Yaba, in the border areas.
RAB has called on the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing any information related to drugs.
