Abdul Motaleb:
Education is everyone’s asset, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has commented. He said, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given the most importance to education in the budget. The Prime Minister’s main love is education. If you ask him which department is his favorite, he will say education, if you ask him a second time, he will say education.
If you ask him a third time, which department he wants to make financially independent, he will say education. He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the 20th University Day celebration and Deans and Vice-Chancellor Award ceremony of Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NSTU) on Monday (June 22) at around 1:30 pm. He said these things while criticizing the previous two governments, he said, our madrasa teachers are not getting their salaries for May-June. An Electric Fund Transfer Project (ETF) was undertaken in 2017. The project of Tk 10 crore has come to Tk 80 crore. But the project is not over. The previous interim government appointed 17,000 madrasa teachers. But since there was no automatic fund transfer program, they did not understand how much money should be allocated for the salaries of madrasa teachers. Madrasa teachers are needed for more than 5 billion taka every month. They did not arrange for their salaries after appointing these teachers. We had 1 billion taka, we allocated that 1 billion taka. We will pay everyone’s salaries in July. Think about it, a madrasa teacher gets a salary every month. How much suffering does he have to suffer if he does not get his salary for a month. The previous governments did not do ETF or allocate money, which is so necessary in this budget. This is how the government has run.
The minister said, the Prime Minister is doing a lot of work for education. Technical education is being given importance. The population of Bangladesh must be transformed into human resources. If this population could be educated in technical education, our income would have increased many times. How can technical education be given importance from the 6th grade? That issue is being considered. Madrasa education is being modernized. We are very lucky to have a Prime Minister like Tarique Rahman. I don’t know if any Prime Minister like Tarique Rahman has come to the world at my age, I don’t see it anymore. He also said that the Prime Minister constantly thinks about the future of this country. The future that his father was thinking about was martyred President Ziaur Rahman. We have got another Bangladesh back through the July Movement of the students and the public. The dream of building this Bangladesh is that of the national hero Tarique Rahman. Tarique Rahman loves Bangladesh, Bangladesh also loves him. If we can build a generation, Bangladesh will move forward.
