Desk News: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given an Eid gift of Tk 5,000 to each sanitation worker of the country’s 12 city corporations. The Prime Minister handed over the cheques to the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation and administrators of other city corporations at the Prime Minister’s private room at the Parliament Secretariat at 3:30 pm today, Sunday.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation Dr. Shahadat Hossain and administrators of other city corporations were present at the time.
Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon said that this financial assistance has been provided to the sanitation workers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to show respect and sympathy.
He said that sanitation workers are playing an important role in keeping the cities of the country clean and livable. The Prime Minister has taken this initiative in recognition of their tireless efforts.
This support from the Prime Minister will further increase the joy of Eid in their families. Atiqur Rahman Rumon also mentioned that the government will continue various humanitarian and welfare initiatives in the future for the welfare of all workers engaged in urban services.
