Press briefing organized by Information Office in Kaptai

A press briefing was organized by the Information Office, Kaptai at the Kaptai Upazila Parishad Conference Room (Kinnari) in Rangamati on Wednesday (May 13) at 12 noon. The Department of Mass Communication, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was organized to highlight the 180-day work plan, the activities of the Department of Mass Communication and the recent activities of the Kaptai Upazila Information Office in the light of the election manifesto of the current government.
The program was presided over by Kaptai Upazila Assistant Information Officer Md. Delwar Hossain and was attended by Agriculturist Dr. Enamul Haque Hazari as the chief guest. Upazila Horticulturalist Md. Rakib Jobayer was present as the special guest.
Various priority programs of the current government were highlighted in the press briefing. Among them, various government initiatives such as family card, farmer card, canal digging, agricultural loan waiver, tree plantation and women’s empowerment were discussed in detail.
The speakers said that through the family card, direct financial and food assistance will be provided to the poorest families. Female-headed families will receive daily necessities at subsidized prices through monthly allowance and TCB. On the other hand, through the farmer card, landless, small and marginal farmers will have the opportunity to receive agricultural loans, subsidies, agricultural inputs and digital services.
In his speech as the chief guest, agricultural expert Dr. Enamul Haque Hazari said that the current government is working with priority on public welfare and sustainable development. The socio-economic development of the country will be further accelerated by implementing various initiatives taken for the development of marginalized communities, women and farmers. He said that the Department of Mass Communication is playing an important role in reaching the development activities of the government to the common people.
He further said that journalists can play an important role in presenting the government’s public welfare activities to the public through objective reporting. At the same time, he called on everyone to work together for tree plantation, environmental conservation and women’s empowerment.
At the same time, the progress of the 180-day program of the Department of Mass Communication was also highlighted. It was informed that various awareness activities including yard meetings, women’s gatherings, film and TVC screenings, road promotions and online campaigns have been conducted across the country, including in Kaptai, Bilaichhari and Rajasthali upazilas through the Kaptai Upazila Information Office.
The Kaptai Upazila Information Office informed the press briefing that in the last three months, the government’s development and public welfare messages have been conveyed to the public through yard meetings, women’s gatherings, farmers’ gatherings, film exhibitions and miking activities in the three upazilas.
Journalists from various print and electronic media working in Kaptai were present at the press briefing. They exchanged views on various development activities of the government and the activities of the Department of Mass Communication at the event.
