A bit policing meeting has been held in Jorarganj with the pledge to build a safe and peaceful society free from drugs, mugging, theft, robbery, eve-teasing, and juvenile gangs. Organized by Bit No. 3 of Jorarganj Union No. 3, the meeting took place today at 1:00 PM in front of the Jorarganj Adarsha High School Market.
Mohammad Halim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jorarganj Police Station, attended the event as the main speaker. The meeting aimed to maintain law and order and strengthen the bond between the police and the public to prevent social crimes.
In his speech, OC Mohammad Halim stated, “We must work with the principle that ‘Police are the public, and the public are the police.’ Our stance is ‘zero tolerance’ against drug dealers, juvenile gangs, or any social crimes. To eradicate these evils from society, it is crucial for the general public to assist the police with accurate information. You provide the information, and the police will take action.”
Local top leaders from the Jorarganj Thana BNP and its various wing and associate organizations were present and spoke at the meeting. In their speeches, the leaders praised the role of the police in improving the local law and order situation. They assured the police administration of full cooperation, transcending political affiliations, to build a safe, orderly, and drug-free area alongside the general public.
The meeting was attended by local dignitaries, business representatives, ordinary citizens from various wards, and a large crowd of onlookers. The event concluded with a call for the public to contact the police directly for any emergency, displaying a banner featuring the Bit Officer’s mobile number.
