A complaint has been filed against the opponent for taking away the goods and land of a family’s house despite the imposition of Section 144 by the learned Additional District Magistrate Court (Case No. 880/2026) in Ishwarganj, Mymensingh. The victim’s family has claimed that this incident happened with the indirect cooperation of SI Jiban of Ishwarganj Police Station.
The victims broke down in tears while recounting the incident to reporters on Tuesday (July 28). Victim Dilruba alleged that the opponents Golam Mohammad, Matiur Rahman Roni and Golam Kabir Rabin, along with their associates, forcibly evicted her elderly father from the house and looted the goods and land of the house. Although the family had been living in the place for a long time, the Palak Jetha family carried out this violence with the aim of usurping their land. The victims claim that their houses were demolished in broad daylight for four consecutive days from July 24 to July 27. No statement was received from any of the opponents in this regard. Although attempts were made to contact the accused SI Jiban and the OC of Ishwarganj Police Station on their mobile phones several times, it was not possible to talk to them. However, Mymensingh District Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mohammad Ashraful Karim has assured to look into the matter and take necessary action. On the other hand, the victims’ families and legal experts have demanded a prompt impartial investigation and recovery of the looted goods by bringing those involved in such crimes that violate Section 144 of the court.
