Netrokona Correspondent: Bangladesh Journalist Development Organization, Netrokona District Branch, laid wreaths at the July Martyrs’ Memorial in Netrokona on the occasion of July Mass Uprising Day. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the initiative of the organization.
On Tuesday (August 5) morning, leaders of Bangladesh Journalist Development Organization, Netrokona District Branch laid wreaths at the July Martyrs’ Memorial adjacent to Moktarpara Bridge in Netrokona town. Deep respect was paid to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising.
After the wreath-laying, a discussion meeting was held at the office of Bangladesh Journalist Development Organization, Netrokona District Branch, adjacent to the Judge Court of the Netrokona Upazila Mosque Market.
The discussion meeting was attended by Abdul Wadud, President of Bangladesh Journalists Development Association, Netrokona District Branch and Publisher and Editor of Daily Priyo Desh Pratidin, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Joint Editor of the organization and Netrokona correspondent of Daily Bhorer Darpan, Delwar Hossain Masud, Editor of SK News 24.com, Md. Solaiman Hossain Rubel, Netrokona correspondent of Daily Jayzaydin, Amitabh Biswas, Netrokona correspondent of Daily Ajker Bangladesh, and Sultan Ahmed, General Secretary of the organization and Netrokona correspondent of Daily Karatoya and The Daily Present Times.
In addition, journalists working in various print and electronic media were present at the event.
The speakers at the discussion meeting remembered the sacrifice of the martyrs in the July Uprising with deep respect. They said that journalists must play a responsible and objective role in establishing democracy, justice and human rights in the country. At the same time, they called on journalists to contribute to positive changes in society and the state by presenting truthful and public interest-based news, in the spirit of the July Uprising.
