Mashahid Ahmed :
Leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Moulvibazar, have held a press conference denying allegations of kidnapping a party leader due to internal conflict in the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Moulvibazar. The press conference was held today, July 5, 2026, at noon, at the hall of the Mamarbari Restaurant in Moulvibazar. The leaders said that on June 26, 2026, the Moulvibazar District National Citizen Party (NCP) organized a protest rally to protest the killing of a Bangladeshi citizen by the BSF at the Kulaura border. The leaders and activists gathered in front of the Moulvibazar Press Club to participate in the program. Before leaving for the rally, a group of people led by Abdullah Al Hossain (July Uprising and Liberation War Affairs Secretary), Kamrul Hasan (Joint Member Secretary), Jabed Rahman (Central Member, National Student Power) and Shafakat Hossain Sadek (Senior Joint Member Secretary, National Student Power, Moulvibazar District) created chaos. At that time, the vehicle carrying the party’s chief coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari was also pushed and hit. After the protest rally, when we left to participate in the workshop and joining ceremony organized by the Kulaura Upazila Committee, the same people again created chaos and attacked us in front of BF Shaheen College in Shamsernagar, Kamalganj Upazila. After that, we left to participate in the scheduled program in Kulaura. Before leaving, the leaders and activists present were informed that action would be taken against those who violated the party’s discipline as per the constitution. At that time, the accused persons returned to Moulvibazar. While busy with the program in Kulaura, the leaders came to know on social media that a campaign was being run that Abdullah Al Hossain had been kidnapped by the Chhatra League. Later, a case of propaganda and kidnapping was filed against them. They alleged that this allegation was made to avoid possible organizational measures and to take the real incident into a different category. They claimed that the case filed with the police station against NCP Senior Joint Convener Ehsan Zakaria, Pradhan and others was completely false, baseless and motivated. Some leaders and activists of NCP, National Youth Power and National Student Power have been mentioned as witnesses in the case. But the district convener spoke to them on his own initiative and confirmed that none of them knew about becoming witnesses and none of their statements were taken. They have the necessary information and evidence in this regard. It is very sad that the Moulvibazar Model Police Station hastily accepted the case without verifying the actual situation of the incident, without accepting the statements of the responsible leaders at the district level and without a preliminary investigation. This naturally raises questions about the impartiality of the case. We have been respectful of the law from the beginning. Therefore, we are demanding a neutral, transparent and fair investigation. We believe that if there is a proper investigation, the real facts will come out and the intentions of those who tried to harass the party and party leaders and activists through false allegations will also be clear to everyone. Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), Moulvibazar convener Khaled Hasan, member secretary Ruhul Amin, senior joint convener Ehsan Zakaria and other leaders were present at the press conference. It is worth noting that Ehsan Zakaria, senior joint convener of NCP Moulvibazar district branch and member secretary Ruhul Amin were granted bail by the learned court in the kidnapping case filed at Moulvibazar Model Police Station due to party conflict.
