On 05/08/2024, Mirajul Islam (21) joined the protest march in favor of the anti-discrimination student movement. When he joined the march, organized terrorists shot Mirajul. Although he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College, he died on 08/08/2024 due to lack of immediate treatment. In this regard, Mirajul’s father Md. Abdus Salam, father of the deceased Abu Bakar Siddique Sang – Bargharia, Ward No. 2, Thana – Aditmari, District – Lalmonirhat, filed an FIR with Jatrabari Police Station, No. 2795, and filed a case in the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court against Sahin Babu, father of Tajal Islam, Senior Vice President – Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance, Dhaka. Case No. 302/307/326/323/143/147/148/149/34 IPC 1860 and Section 3/5/6 of the Explosive Substances Act 1908 have been found guilty and his maximum punishment was death penalty. The court reached the hearing on 23/06/2026 and ordered the accused Sahin Babu to be produced in the court.
On the same day, in the incident of the attack of the two-wheeler driver on Shyampur Police Station, killing a constable and breaking the police station and beating the employees and officers of the police station, the accused Sahin Babu Police Station was registered under Case No. 156 and the accused number 17 in the complaint under Sections of the case: 302/124 (a)/147/148/326/307/34 IPC 1860 and Section 5/6 of the Explosive Substances Act 1908.
Conscious circles are assuming that since one after another state and anti-national cases have been filed against Sahin Babu and more will be filed by the opposition, by the leaders and workers of the current ruling party, and there is a 100% possibility of his life being lost, in this situation, Sahin Babu has no way to survive except for political asylum from a friendly foreign country.
