A mother and daughter were killed in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Faridpur, Pabna. The accident occurred in the Demra Chakchakkia area of ​​the upazila around 9:30 am on Tuesday (September 2).
The deceased are Sohel Rana’s wife, Aulia Khatun (25), and his daughter, Sumaiya (7), of Charpara village in Chatmohar upazila. The injured Sohel Rana (28) has been admitted to the hospital.
Faridpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasnat Zaman said that Sohel Rana was going home to Chatmohar from Shahjadpur in Sirajganj on a motorcycle in the morning. On the way, there was a head-on collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction in the Demra Chakchakkia area of ​​Faridpur upazila. The mother and daughter were killed on the spot.
Sohel Rana was first admitted to the Faridpur Upazila Health Complex by the locals in a seriously injured condition. Later, as his condition deteriorated, doctors shifted him to Pabna General Hospital.
The OC further said that upon receiving information, the bodies of the deceased mother and daughter were recovered from the accident site and taken into police custody. Their bodies will be handed over to the family after the legal process is completed.
