Md. Abdul Haque Harirampur Manikganj: Police have arrested Hukum Ali (52), an accused in 21 drug cases, in an anti-drug operation in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj. Yaba and marijuana were recovered from him during the operation.
On Tuesday afternoon, a team from Harirampur Police Station conducted a raid in Rajar Kalta village of Gala union of the upazila and arrested Hukum Ali from his house. He is the son of the deceased Mansher Ali of the village.
Police said that during the raid, 25 pieces of Yaba and 50 grams of marijuana were recovered from Hukum Ali’s house. Later, the recovered drugs were seized and he was brought to the police station.
According to police sources, a new case has been filed against Hukum Ali at Harirampur Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act in this incident. Earlier, there were 21 drug-related cases against him.
Confirming the matter, Harirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Afzal Hossain said, “The police’s zero tolerance policy against drugs continues. Regular operations will be conducted against drug dealers and no one will be spared.”
