Lama in Written complaint seeking administration’s intervention to maintain peace and order

Desk News : 5 August 2026 Qasahowai Marma (56), a resident and farmer of Ward No. 6 of Ghazalia Union No. 1 of Lama Upazila of Bandarban district, has filed a written complaint with the concerned administration demanding to maintain peace and order in the area and ensure the safety of himself and the local residents.

The complaint was submitted to the Ghazalia police outpost on 4 August 2026. In the complaint, Qasahowai Marma claimed that for a long time, there have been allegations of intimidation, extortion, drug sales, illegal activities and creating panic among the common people against some local people and their associates.

In the written complaint, he alleged that the accused are creating panic in the area by practicing with weapons in public. They have also been accused of extortion, grabbing land and houses, and evicting them from their homes and taking over their homes.

The complaint names Shekhuiching Marma (45), father-Kyamong Marma; Gara Marma, father-Ankya Marma; Asingmong Marma, father-Mong Mong Karbari; and Ethoai Singh Marma, father-Kho Singh Marma, along with 30 to 35 other unidentified persons.

The complaint further states that the local people are suffering from insecurity due to the alleged activities of the accused. The complainant himself has claimed that he has been subjected to various types of intimidation and harassment. In addition, various serious criminal activities have also been raised in the written complaint.

The complainant has demanded that the administration verify the truth of the complaint through an impartial investigation, take legal action against the culprits and restore a peaceful environment in the area. At the same time, he also requests that the safety of himself and his family be ensured.

When contacted, the officer-in-charge of Lama Police Station said, “We have not received any written complaint in this regard yet. However, legal action will be taken if any such written complaint is received.”

The statements of those named in the complaint could not be collected till the time of publishing this report.
