Kurigram Correspondent : To ensure 100% sanitation system in Kurigram, hygienic sanitary latrines have been distributed among selected families.
This distribution was held at the Palashbari Paschim Para Government Primary School ground in Belgachha Union of Kurigram Sadar Upazila today (June 4) at noon.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas was present as the chief guest at the event organized by Kurigram ADP, World Vision Bangladesh. Sadar Upazila Social Service Officer Mashiur Rahman Mondal, Sadar Upazila Public Health Engineering Department Deputy Assistant Engineer Nityananda Barman, Belgachha Union Panel Chairman Khorshed Alam were present as special guests. The event was presided over by World Vision Bangladesh, Kurigram ADP Manager Nita Flora Das.
In order to ensure 100% sanitation system, a complete set of latrines was distributed to each of the 189 registered and unregistered beneficiaries.
The chief guest of the event, Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas, said that there is no alternative to healthy sanitation for a healthy life. However, creating awareness about the environment is more necessary than money to create a beautiful environment. If awareness is created among everyone about the use of healthy latrines, environmental pollution can be reduced to a large extent. If it is possible to ensure healthy sanitation system, it will be easier to keep the next generation free from serious infectious diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, jaundice, typhoid. In this regard, everyone needs to be more attentive in sanitation management. The implementation of effective steps to create public awareness about hygiene rules among the people must be accelerated.
