Joypurhat Press Club’s newly elected executive committee takes oath

The official swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected representatives of the Joypurhat Press Club’s “Executive Committee Election 2026–2028” has been completed.
On Thursday afternoon, representatives of the newly elected committee formally took the oath as part of their assumption of office in a simple ceremony at the Joypurhat Press Club conference room.
At the oath-taking ceremony, the newly elected leaders pledged to protect the dignity of the Joypurhat Press Club, improve professional standards, and provide impartial news with honesty and integrity. They sought prayers, blessings, and overall cooperation from people of all levels of the district, colleagues, and well-wishers to fulfill their assigned responsibilities properly.Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Noor Alam Siddiqui, newly elected President of Joypurhat Press Club Abu Bakkar Siddique, General Secretary Shamim Qadir, Chief Election Commissioner Nazrul Islam, Election Commissioners Arafat Hossain Moon and Sujan Kumar Mondal spoke at the event. Former General Secretaries Ratan Kumar Kha, Masud Rana, journalists Abdul Alim and Salehur Rahman Sajeeb, among others, spoke.
Vice President: Sohel Ahmed Leo was present at the time.

Senior journalists of the Press Club and local media workers were present at the event. The speakers expressed optimism that the leadership of this newly formed committee will play an important role in the journalism and social development work of Joypurhat. Incidentally, the election of a 13-member executive committee for a two-year term (2026-28) was held on July 25. Journalist Abu Bakkar Siddique was elected president and journalist Shamim Qadir was elected general secretary.
