Jhalokati Correspondent: A meeting was held at the initiative of the Jhalokati District Branch of the Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh (ADAB) to strengthen mutual cooperation between GEO-NGOs.
On Tuesday (August 4) at 10:30 am, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jhalokati Md. Kawsar Hossain was present as the chief guest in the meeting organized at the meeting room of Jhalokati Press Club. The meeting, chaired by ADAB Jhalakathi District Committee President Md. Shah Alam Khalifa, was attended by special guests including Jhalakathi Press Club President Md. Akkas Sikder, Dainik Durjatra Editor and Press Club Vice President Ziaul Hasan Palash, ADAB Barisal Divisional Coordinator KM Jahangir Alam, ADAB Jhalakathi District Branch General Secretary and SAIDO Executive Director Syed Hossain Ahmed Kamal and Vice President Md. Khalilur Rahman Mridha.
The program was moderated by Sujan—Citizens for Good Governance, Nalchiti Upazila Committee Secretary and DUMACS Advisory Lecturer Md. Amir Hossain. The speakers at the meeting emphasized on strengthening mutual cooperation, coordination and partnership between government (GO) and non-government (NGO) organizations in nation-building. They said that coordinated initiatives of government and non-government organizations are very important to ensure sustainable development.
Representatives of about 30 NGOs working at various upazila levels of the district, including members of ADAB, participated in the meeting.
