Gazi Gias Uddin Bashir, Jhalokati : The District Administration has started the ” District Commissioner Gold Cup Football Tournament – 2026″ in Jhalokati.
The tournament was inaugurated at the Jhalokati Municipal Mini Stadium on Thursday ( June 25 ) at 3 pm . The event was inaugurated by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Affairs ( State Minister rank ) Dr. S. M. Ziaruddin Haider as the chief guest . The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Jhalakathi and learned District Magistrate Md . Momin Uddin, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Municipal Administrator Md. Kawsar Hossain, District Council Administrator and District BNP Member Secretary Adv. Shahadat Hossain were present at the event.
Organized by the district administration and in collaboration with the district sports association , football teams from different areas of the district’s 4 upazilas are participating in this tournament . Sports-loving spectators , administration officials , public representatives and people from different classes and professions were present at the opening ceremony .
Organizers said that such sports events will play an important role in getting the youth interested in sports and keeping them away from drugs and crime .
