Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that any irregularities or lack of transparency in the canal digging program will not be tolerated.
He said this while responding to questions from journalists while inaugurating a canal digging program in Barua area of ​​Kulaghat union in Lalmonirhat on Wednesday (March 18) morning.
The minister said that the main objective of this canal cutting program is to create employment opportunities for the poor and extremely poor people of the area. At the same time, local farmers will directly benefit from this project. They will be able to easily conduct irrigation work on their land by using the reserved water of the canal.
Asadul Habib Dulu said that arrangements are being made to retain water throughout the year by re-digging the canals. This will create great opportunities not only for agriculture but also for fish farming. Which will further strengthen the local economy. In addition, trees will be planted on both sides of the canal to enhance the beauty and balance of the environment and necessary TR will be allocated for its proper maintenance.
​After the inauguration ceremony, the Minister participated in various developmental and relief programs of the government, including the distribution of VGF rice at the local level. Local administration officials and political leaders were present at the time.
