Prominent industrialist Zillur Rahman showed surprise by steering the boat in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections in Moulvibazar-3 (Sadar and Rajnagar) parliamentary seat. He is associated with various organizations including Managing Director of Olila Group, Advisor of Sheikh Russell Smriti Parishad and President of Abahani Supporters Group. Industrialist Zillur Rahman was officially announced as the candidate for the Awami League’s party nomination, and the local people took part in a joyous procession in the area, thanking and congratulating the party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The party’s central general secretary Obaidul Quader officially announced the names of the final candidates as the candidates for the boat at a press conference organized at the Awami League party office in the capital today, November 26 afternoon. 4 people got party nomination from Awami League as candidate of boat symbol in 4 constituencies of the district. Among them, 2 new people Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel from Moulvibazar-2 and Industrialist Md. Zillur Rahman from Moulvibazar-3 got party nomination. Moulvibazar-1 (Barlekha and Juri) 4 times former MP, Environment, Forest and Climate Affairs Minister Md. Shahab Uddin. Moulvibazar-2 (Kulaura) Central Awami League Organizing Secretary and BCB Director, Sports Organizer Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel. Moulvibazar-4 (Srimangal and Kamalganj) Former Chief Whip and 6-time MP Deputy Principal Dr. Abdus Shaheed. At that time, the central leaders of Awami League and the aspirants were present. It is known that 33 leaders collected party nomination form from 4 constituencies of Moulvibazar district. Among them were the current parliamentarians of the respective constituencies including central and district level leaders. This morning, party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the aspirants to the Ganabhaban and gave instructions. Polling will be held on January 7 as per the announced schedule.
