Mohammad Sohel, Sr.Reporter Cox’s Bazar: After visiting the flood-affected areas in Cox’s Bazar, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said that the government is giving importance to rehabilitation as well as relief assistance to the affected families after the terrible flood. BNP was elected by the people, so it has a responsibility towards the people. That is why the government will work for the rehabilitation of people affected by the recent floods and landslides, he said.
The minister made these remarks while inspecting and distributing relief in Chander Para area of ​​Jhilanja Union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila on Tuesday (July 14) morning.
The State Minister said that while rescue and relief activities in flood-affected areas have been given priority, the government is now working on a rehabilitation plan for the affected people. He said that it is the government’s responsibility to stand by the people in times of disaster and necessary steps are being taken to overcome the losses.
Talking to reporters after the inspection, the State Minister further said that the indiscriminate cutting of mountains in the past will not be allowed to continue under the current government. No matter how influential the mountaineers are, strict legal action will be taken against them. If artificial waterlogging has been created by closing the Swiss Gate anywhere, the matter will be investigated and necessary action will be taken against those responsible, he assured.
The State Minister visited the PMkhali Chander Pada area of ​​Jhilanja Union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila in the morning and provided relief assistance to more than a hundred affected people.
At the time, Cox’s Bazar 3 constituency MP Lutfur Rahman Kajal, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Upazila Executive Officer and local leaders were present.
