In view of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid items have been distributed among the helpless and distressed people at Patikabari Pramanik Bari in Ward No. 9 of Bahadurpur Union in Pangsha Upazila of Rajbari. In this humanitarian initiative, sarees, lungis and shirts were distributed among about 200 needy families in the area, which has increased their Eid joy to some extent.
The program, organized at around 8:30 am on Wednesday (March 18), received a huge response among the locals. The spontaneous presence of the poor and underprivileged people in this initiative organized in their own homes was observed. Many said that such assistance before Eid is very important and pleasant for them.
The distribution ceremony was attended by BNP vice-president Abul Pramanik of this ward, former headmaster of Bagmara Government Primary School Aziz Pramanik, local ward member Jasim Uddin Pramanik and other prominent figures of the area. During this time, the guests personally handed over Eid items to the beneficiaries and inquired about them.
The guests said at the ceremony that it is possible to alleviate the suffering of the helpless people to some extent only by the wealthy people of the society coming forward. Such initiatives spread the message of humanity and compassion in the society.
In this regard, prominent businessman Nesar Ahmed Pramanik said,
“We are not distributing Eid items to show people. We have been trying to stand by the helpless people silently for a long time. If other wealthy people of the society also come forward and stand by the poor people after seeing this small effort of ours, that will be our biggest success.”
He also said that such humanitarian activities will continue in the future and efforts will be made to stand by the neglected people of the society.
Welcoming such initiatives, locals said that bringing smiles to the faces of helpless people during joyful moments like Eid is the mark of true humanity.
