Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed is going to the Austrian capital Vienna to attend the two-day (March 16-17) Global Fraud Summit 2026 jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
A press release from the Home Ministry on Sunday said that the Home Minister is leading a five-member Bangladesh delegation to the summit to be held at the Vienna International Conference Center.
The release said that along with the summit’s opening and plenary sessions, the minister will participate as a panelist in the high-level roundtable meeting titled ‘Global Fraud Response Mechanism’ and the high-level special session titled ‘National Commitments/Pledges on Combating Fraud’.
The Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with UNODC Executive Director John Brandolino and UK Home Secretary Rt Hon Lord Hanson as part of the sideline event.
It is to be noted that the Minister will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Dhaka at 4:50 pm on Sunday to attend the summit on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-679. After the summit, he will return to Dhaka on Turkish Airlines flight TK-712 at 5:35 am on March 20.
