Bir Muktijoddhas (freedom fighters) in Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola accorded a civic reception to Bhola-2 Member of Parliament Alhaj Hafiz Ibrahim on Monday. Medical allowances were also distributed among financially insolvent freedom fighters during the event.
The reception and allowance distribution program was organized by the Borhanuddin Upazila Administration at the Upazila Parishad Hall Room at 12:00 pm on Monday, July 27, 2026. The chief guest was MP Alhaj Hafiz Ibrahim, while Borhanuddin Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Manoranjan Barman presided over the function.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the freedom fighters welcomed the MP with flowers and presented him with a commemorative crest in recognition of his contribution and support. Later, he handed over medical allowance grants to financially disadvantaged freedom fighters of the upazila.
Speaking as the chief guest, MP Hafiz Ibrahim said that the freedom fighters are the architects of the country’s independence and the nation’s greatest heroes. He said Bangladesh achieved independence through their supreme sacrifice and that the government remains committed to ensuring their dignity, welfare, and overall well-being.
Among others present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ranjit Chandra Das, Senior Fisheries Officer Monoj Kumar Saha, Upazila Agriculture Officer Gobinda Mondal, Upazila Social Services Officer Mia Manjur A. Elahi, Md. Al-Amin, Upazila Executive Engineer Md. Mainul Islam, and officials from different government departments.
The beneficiary freedom fighters expressed their satisfaction after receiving the medical assistance and welcomed the government’s initiative. At the end of the program, they extended their best wishes to MP Hafiz Ibrahim and expressed hope for his continued support toward the welfare of freedom fighters.
The event concluded in a cordial and festive atmosphere.
