Masum Talukder : The Dhaka South Administrator is going to introduce autorickshaw passes, hawker passes, T-stall passes and market management. The City Mayor is going to organize the ‘Citizen’s Thought’ program soon. Dhaka South City Corporation has taken the initiative to implement four new digital projects to make the capital’s urban system transparent and modern. It was decided in the meeting chaired by DSCC Administrator Md. Abdus Salam that about six lakh autorickshaws, hawkers, tea shops and 86 markets will be brought to the digital platform step by step. An important discussion meeting was recently held in the meeting room of Dhaka South City Corporation with the aim of transparency in the capital’s urban management, increasing revenue and improving the quality of life of small traders. Administrator Md. Abdus Salam presided over the meeting. The four projects discussed in the meeting were Digital Auto Rickshaw Pass, Digital Hawker Pass, Digital T-Stall Pass and Digital Market System. The participants exchanged views in detail on the implementation structure, partnership and possible activities of the projects. After the discussion, the Administrator directed the concerned department to approve the project as a pilot project. If the project is implemented, all auto rickshaws, hawkers, tea shops and approximately 86 markets of Dhaka South City Corporation will be digitized step by step. About six lakh auto rickshaws will be brought under the Digital Pass. The Digital Hawker Pass will provide opportunities for microfinance, healthcare and online platforms for hawkers. Digital registration in tea stall and market management and low-cost food supply are ensured. RK Ripon, Founder and CEO, Neighbor Platform and Agro Chain Bangladesh said, it will be possible to bring auto rickshaw drivers, hawkers and small traders on an integrated platform through digital technology. This will increase their income and have a positive impact on the city economy. A special program called “Citizen Thought” is being organized soon with the participation of representatives of all the relevant ministries and departments of the government. The program will include a detailed presentation of the project, exchange of views and receiving opinions from citizens and businessmen. Also present at the meeting were Secretary Mohammad Nasim Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer Md. Zahirul Islam, Private Secretary Md. Russell Rahman, Chief Revenue Officer Jonayed Kabir Sohag, Chief Property Officer Md. Mobasher Hasan, System Analyst Md. Abu Tayyab Rokon and Architect and Chief Urban Planner Md. Sirajul Islam. Project-related representatives included Co-Founder Md. Gias Uddin, Legal Advisor Md. Maidul Islam Palak and Marketing Head Md. Abdul Mannan.
