A day-long Partner Congress gathering was held in Pansha, Rajbari under the Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner) Program for the fiscal year 2025-26.
The gathering was organized by the Pangsha Upazila Agricultural Extension Department at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Tuesday (May 19) at 11 am.
Pangsha Upazila Agricultural Officer Muhammad Tofazzal Hossain delivered the welcome speech at the event.
Pangsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rifatul Haque presided over the event, and Rajbari Agricultural Extension Department Deputy Director Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam was present as the chief guest.
In his speech as the chief guest, he said that the main goal of the ‘Partner Congress’ program is to provide safe food to the consumer level. He said that Bangladesh’s soil is one of the most fertile soils in the world, where there is a potential for producing almost all types of fruits and crops. If modern technology is used in the agricultural sector and nutritious food production increases, farmers will benefit more. For this, emphasizing good agricultural practices, he said that if quality and safe food production is achieved, the demand for Bangladesh’s agricultural products will increase in the international market.
He also said that the main goal of this project is to create new entrepreneurs and accelerate the rural economy. The ‘Partner’ program is playing an effective role in the modernization of agriculture, increasing safe and nutritious food production, marketing of agricultural products and improving the quality of food. In addition, emphasis is being placed on technical assistance and awareness raising for farmers to build a climate-tolerant agricultural system.
The event was attended as a special guest by Faridpur Region Senior Monitoring Officer, Partner, Faridpur Md. Hafiz Hasan.
Also present at the event were Rajbari District Agricultural Extension Department Training Officer Krishibid Golam Rasul, Pangsha Agricultural Extension Officer Raihan Kabir, Pangsha Upazila Assistant Director (BADC) Faruk Hossain, Pangsha Model Police Station Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Abdul Gani, Rajbari District BNP Former Vice President and Organizing Secretary Md. Habibur Rahman Raja, Upazila BNP President Chand Ali Khan, General Secretary Shah Md. Rafiqul Islam, Pangsha-Kalukhali Upazila Education Welfare Trust President and Udayanpur High School Headmaster Md. Shamsul Alam Sohrab, along with officials and employees of various departments.
Around 100 people, including 70 farmers from different areas of the upazila, media workers, mosque imams, government officials and local stakeholders, participated in the rally.
