Mohammad Sohel, Cox’s Bazar: Rafiqul Islam, convener of SCOP Cox’s Bazar District Committee and president of District Workers’ Party, raised the demand for establishment of labor court in Cox’s Bazar. The central leaders expressed their hope to discuss this issue with the appropriate authorities and take initiatives to establish labor court in Cox’s Bazar as soon as possible.
On August 2, 2026 (Saturday), at 3 pm, a view exchange meeting was held between SCOP Cox’s Bazar District Committee and SCOP Central Leaders at Hotel Shoibale to establish workers’ rights, improve working environment and further strengthen workers’ education programs.
Mezbah Uddin, Chairman of the Central Committee of the International Labor Organization (ILO) National Coordination Committee for Workers’ Education (NCCWE), was present as the chief guest.
Former Chairman of Bangladesh Labor Rights Reform Commission and Executive Director of Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies (BILS) Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, President of Bangladesh Nationalist Labor Party Central Committee Anwar Hossain and Central Publicity Secretary Manjurul Islam Manju were present as special guests.
The meeting was presided over by SCOP Cox’s Bazar District Committee Convener and District Labor Party President Rafiqul Islam. The program was conducted by SCOP District Committee Member Secretary M. Jasim Uddin.

The speakers emphasized on establishing fair rights of workers, ensuring a safe and dignified environment at the workplace, expanding worker education programs and strengthening unity and coordination among labor organizations. They also called on everyone to work together to implement worker-friendly policies.
The speakers at the meeting expressed hope that this exchange of views will play an important role in protecting workers’ rights, increasing mutual cooperation between organizations, exchanging experiences and formulating future action plans.
